Lots of happenings….

So much has been happening with our family.  Here's a quick update.

  • Two big trees were removed from our front yard.
  • The sidewalk was removed...new one coming soon.
  • Rylee started walking!

  • Don and Abbye, kids and dogs...frogs too...all moved to their new house.
  • Reagan painted two really cool pictures to hang in the new house.
  • Bryan, Jen and the boys went to Williamsburg last week...narrowly missed being hit by falling trees.
  • Jennifer and the boys are in Dallas visiting Jen's family this week.
  • I almost feel caught up with my pile of "things to do" at work.
  • Working on our next JOY Fellowship event and getting the word out.  This picture is from our last event--a picnic by the intercoastal waterway.

  • My birthday is Saturday.  This will be my last year before hitting the big "6-O"....Oh my!
  • So enjoying what is happening at Rock Church.
  • Also, enjoying seeing all the dance students coming in to register for the next semester at GAFA.

These are just a few of the "happenings" in my life.  The best one I think is that I am finding more and more Joy, Peace and Love.   Thank you, Yahweh, for pouring these blessings into my life!

Nana’s Grands

It has been such a long time since I have posted a blog.  So much has been happening in my life--many things that I could not bring myself to write about.  But, thru all that has been happening my grandchildren have given me such joy.  The four boys have been joined by a wonderful grand daughter-Rylee Lyric Printy.

Isn't she beautiful--even with the pacificer!!!!

I also had a birthday and celebrated with the family including my four grandsons.  They helped me open my birthday presents.  Gabriel is almost 13 (wow!), Noah is 10, Adam is 7 and Reagan is 3.

                                     I love my grands!!!!!

So, I'll try to write more often.  Maybe write about the past few months....

Life is good, hard, exciting, trying, rewarding, painful, demanding, fun, joyful, surprising....

........what did I leave out?

Ready For Christmas!

I finished my shopping--along with a few things for myself...Now, I have a few more gifts to wrap and I'll be ready.

Today, I went with my daughter, daughter-in-law and my awesome grandsons to Myrtle Beach to see Polar Express at the IMAX.  We had a blast!  We all enjoyed watching the movie except little Reagan (2 yrs. old) who could not keep the glasses on.  They kept falling off.  So, he watched a very blurry movie.  Even then he watched intently because he loves Polar Express and says the parts along with the actors!

Monday night our kids will be at our home for our annual Christmas Eve dinner and gift exchange.  When our kids were young, we started the tradition and look forward to a special dinner before opening gifts.  Several years ago I served lamb chops and now every year this is what everyone wants.  So, once again the chops are on the menu with chutney, asparagus spears, roasted potato wedges, yeast rolls and special desserts--maybe cheesecake, chocolate cake and pumpkin pie!

Christmas Day we will go to our children's homes to see the grandsons open gifts from their parents.  Then, a wonderful meal at Bryan and Jen's where each of us will bring something for the feast.

So, now you can understand why I love this season.  I enjoy finding the gifts, watching the Christmas movies, listening to carols on the radio, Peppermint Mocha Latte at Starbucks, lamb chops, adding a Caroler to my collection and many more holiday traditions.  I also enjoy celebrating the birth of my Savior.  Even though December 25th is not the exact day that Christ was born, it is the day that we celebrate and rejoice that He came to earth.  I am so grateful that God so loved me that He sent His son.....

So, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful, Happy New Year!

Christmas Is Fun

I love Christmas!  I have several holiday music channels programmed on my satellite radio and I sing along with the carols....especially Feliz Navidad.  Saturday I bought some more Christmas earrings and Friday night we had our annual grandchildren's sleepover/decorating party.  This year all four grandsons were here.  What a great time we had.  Friday night we watched polar express, made cinnamon rolls and worked on straightening the tree limbs.  Then, Saturday morning we made gingerbread men and decorated the tree.  Each of the boys have ornaments that are their first Christmas ornaments and others that they have claimed as the ones they put on the tree each year.  This is a tradition that we cherish.  Next year grandchild number five will be born and in a couple of years he or she will join the party....I can't wait!

Soon it will be time for Imagine Christmas.  So many people are working so very hard on this production.  I believe it will be amazing.

There was a time a couple of years ago that I wondered if I would live to enjoy very many more Christmas seasons.  I now believe that I will and I look forward to many, many, many more and every year I want to enjoy Grandchildren's sleepover!

Airlines’ Responsibility

My daughter, son-in-law and grandson had a terrible experience flying home from Rochester, NY last night.  Check out their story at http://abbyeprinty.wordpress.com/.

Why can't someone inform the passengers what is happening?  Just the basic information would help when things are not going normally.  To have your plane surrounded by emergency vehicles after suddenly aborting the takeoff is very unnerving.  Then, to take off with no explanation is just wrong.

I believe keeping passengers informed should be a part of the passenger's bill of rights.

I am so very thankful that my family arrived home safely, but much needless worry could have been allayed with some thoughtful communication by the airline.

Today, when I asked my two year old grandson, Reagan, what the airplane did, he showed me that it went fast and then went "eeeeeeeeeek".  Abbye said that's the sound of the screeching brakes!!

Thanksgiving Plans

With much mixed emotions, I just got plane tickets for a trip to Florida to be with our parents for Thanksgiving.   Going to Florida means that I will not be with my children and grandchildren for Thanksgiving dinner.  This is quite disappointing to me....but, it does mean that Ronnie will be able to be with his parents, brother, sister-in-law and other relatives  for an early Thanksgiving meal.  Also, I will be with my parents and siblings for a family holiday meal.

I will really miss Abbye and Don's special roasted turkey and Jen's sweet potato casserole and wonderful desserts.  So, I hope they will fix them again for Christmas!

So much is already on the schedule for the next couple of months.  Lots of fun stuff.  I think the one that I am most looking forward to is the Imagine Christmas  at The Rock.  Check it out at http://therockchristmas.com

Make it a great week!
